PRIZM FOUNDATION INTENSIVE PRE-APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING
At Prizm Foundation, we recognize the need for
measurable and successful results in job training leading to job placement with
the following goals:
Decrease employee turnover Increase productivity Motivate success Retool existing skills for changes in work opportunities Create highly skilled New Mexico workforce Use industry driven criteria for curriculum to pre-position trainees for the
rigors of apprenticeship on the job training & technical instruction.
The Program - In addition to our continuing
availability to all Workforce Connections and WIA training candidates, we
provide an intensive 4 week services program specifically to create a path to
employment through the New Mexico Apprenticeship program and major employers.
This Prizm program (in classes of 20) interfaces directly with employers and the
apprenticeship program to tailor each course offering to the specific needs of
employers intending to hire in the near term.
How – Prizm trainers meet with employers to
define the requirements and trade skills needed for near term, upcoming hiring /
apprenticeship participation and provide 2 avenues to employment through both
union and non-union shops.
Outcome – Prescreened job trainees complete
fast track Prizm training customized program for predetermined employers
expressing intent to hire graduates of the Prizm Pre-apprenticeship program,
thus insuring a higher rate of successful job placement.
In addition, all trainees in the program can
choose 10 courses, (20-30 hrs) out of our online class curriculum of approx.
1500 courses for enhanced skill building. This offering allows trainees to
explore additional interests, assess their own strengths & weaknesses, cultivate
a mindset for learning and is also used by instructors to measure self
motivation in the trainees.
